HOWDY! :) Happy August by the way! And you all know what that means....I get to go home and switch the page on my calendar! *does happy dance* So, I decided to write about a little game that my friend, Isaac, and I created while we have been kinda bored at work instead of my usual 'this is what I did today' routine. I actually, finally have stuff to do for about 3/4 of every day now at work, but our game makes it just a little more entertaining...sadly. :) To start off the story, there are three things you need to know:
1) My office has a gmail account on which I am signed on to all day, for obvious reasons. Isaac has his own gmail account that he is signed on to and there is a 'chat' feature where you can do like an instant message thing and chat with anyone else who is online that is in your address book. Naturally, we chat just about everyday whenever we get bored, or just randomly throughout the day. We always joke that we're really good friends, except for I don't know that we've actually sat and talked face to face in about a year since he moved into a new office. Walls ruin everything. haha. Anyway, a while back, I was entering these things called Praise Notes into a data sheet and we would analyse it and everything and I don't know if it was because they were older and had dust on them...or maybe it was the angle of the sun coming in through the window, or maybe a combo of both, but I sneezed like 10+ times everyday. Isaac decided that he would say, 'bless you' over the chat apparatus after every time I sneezed, to be polite.
2) There is another guy that we work with, Mike, and I kid you not, his wife and family are the only reason why I have to make sure the phones are covered from 8-5 every day. They call so many times a day that its getting hilarious and sad to say, a little ridiculous! :)
3) About a month or so ago, Isaac and I started keeping tally with how many times Mike's wife called and how many times his family called just as a 'gee whiz' factor. I promise, these will all tie together soon. :)
So here's the game: I'm not sure exactly how this whole thing started, but we decided to have a contest everyday. Isaac and my sneezes against how many times Mike's wife calls. We got creamed yesterday. She had like 5 or 6 and we only had 3 sneezes. Usually we can keep up with her pretty well but there was nothing in the air yesterday, apparently. However, today, I've already sneezed twice and she hasn't called at all. In all fairness, Mike just walked in like 10 minutes ago, but still. We're gonna cream this lady! :) Isaac is leaving this month to go to school in Richmond, VA so I'm hoping that I'm up to face the task alone once he's gone...that's gonna mean a lot more sneezing for me after he departs. *hopes she can do it*
I know, its sad that we play this game...but we were talking today about how when we sneeze at home, we have the urge to text each other to tell the other person. haha its sad, but it spices work up just a little bit. Not to mention that I'm easily amused, so it really shouldn't surprise anyone! :) The funny part is that we both get so excited when one of us sneezes...like we've accomplished some amazing feat that we should be proud of....ah, boredom. It messes with you. :) Anyway, my boss has been in a meeting all day for the last couple of days and they have been snacking in there and he felt guilty so he bought us bagels for breakfast to ease his pain...I'm going to go enjoy me a guilt bagel...they usually seem to taste a little better than regular bagels! :) This should be good...HEARTCHA! XOXO

Three down...one more to go
Call me crazy, but I definitely read all three twilight books in the last three days. I just couldn't get enough of Edward. Almost to the point of it being unhealthy. haha. He's seriously like the most perfect guy ever...well minus the vampire thing, but everyone is allowed at least one flaw right? :) Maybe I'm just making up for all of his that he doesn't have! lol. Seriously though...wow. I never thought I would be in to the whole 'old fashioned' guy thing...but apparently, I am. Who knew? For those of you who haven't read them; Edward is described as this beyond beautiful guy, so it was kinda fun to actually see what my imagination came up with for what he looked and dressed like. It was kind of a surprise actually...he didn't turn out how I thought he would, at all! :) But it worked and now I'm kinda sad for the movie because 'my' Edward looks different from the guy that is playing him in the movie. It's all fine tho...the guy they have is good looking for sure. haha. I'm sure I wont be too disappointed! :) The next book comes out on Saturday, so I'm sure I'll lock myself in my room until I'm finished with it. Although, I wont be able to start it until Saturday night. Jen (my old roommate) is coming into town for the weekend and I couldn't be more excited! Until then, I'm sure I'll be doing whatever I can to get Edward out of my head....I even went running hardcore today with my 'get pumped up' music and, nothin! There were all of these songs poppin up and commercials n such that made me think of him. BLAH. I talked to my roommate when I got home and she reassured me that it was perfectly normal...it happened to her too, and many other girls that I know. So, if there are any dudes out there, reading this...you should read it and take notes. Apparently, he's got the girl routine down. haha.
I found another book that I've been wanting to read for a while now...Girl Interrupted. It's one of those Psych books that a bunch of people in my major said was pretty good, so I figure I should read it. I'm gonna take it to work tomorrow to pass the time. I'm sure it's better than Sudoku-ing and facebooking all day long :) I'm sorry that I really don't have a whole lot of anything interesting to write...my last few days have been pretty uneventful aside from everyone at work calling my phone extension to interrupt my reading because they thought it was funny. I think my favorite though, is that there is this 30ish year old guy that works there. Really hardcore. Used to work in Juvenile Hall n such if that helps you paint the picture. Anyway, he's read them all a while ago and loved them and he kept comin out asking me what part I was at and then we'd talk about it for a bit. haha good times with the hardcore softies! :) Anyway, I hope you all have a GREAT week!!! XOXO

The Addiction
"I'm done!" I exclaimed as I clumsily tried sitting up on the couch yesterday afternoon. (My bottom was still sore from earlier week events). I closed the book thinking I would be okay. As I sat up, something caught the attention of my eye. It was a bookshelf. And on the top of that bookshelf, there were three books that particularly had my interest. The first one looked exactly like the one I had in my hand, but the other two...oh the other two. I thought I could resist. I thought that I was strong. Turns out, I'm not as strong as I thought I was. :) That's right...I have recently become addicted to the thing my friend, Joyce, refers to as 'crack for girls:' the Twilight books. I started reading them upon request from a couple of friends. Emily said that I would love them but that I should probably wait until summer because I'd want to read them all the way through without stopping. I thought that was absurd. The only books I ever do that with are Harry Potter (for obvious reasons). And Beth wanted my opinion on them as she, too, has grown to love the books as well. I had heard a little about these books and something about the idea of a stalkerish vampire dude as the main heart throb of the story didn't seem to catch my attention. I admit...I made fun of people like me before. Saying things like, 'wow...really? What's so great about a creepy vampire? He can't be THAT irresistible.' I was wrong. Not only does he have me completely mesmerized, but I'm having a hard time putting the second book down. The fourth (and final) book comes out on Friday, so I'm pretty pleased with the timing :) This way I don't have to wait to see what happens. I heard the 3rd book is a real doozey. I got about 120 pages in to the second book before I had to high tail it off to ward prayer followed by Disney night, so I didn't get that far in to it, but I definitely cried at the beginning. I know, I know...you can go ahead and stamp 'LOSER' across my forehead. I don't care.... I've heard it gets better after about 3 more chapters or so, but I'm having a hard time reading it cuz its bumming me out. If anyone is familiar with the Friends episode where Joey reads Little Women and has to put the book in the freezer when Beth is getting sick and he's afraid she's going to die...yeah, I contemplated the freezer option a couple of times yesterday, but luckily, I never got to that point.
In happier news, I sat all through church yesterday...with the help of my bean bag pillow. I thought I could be strong today and not use my pillow at work. I probably should have thought that one out a little better though as I have only been here for about 20 minutes and it's already pretty sore. I still can't wear things with thick/tighter waistbands. Jeans are definitely out of the question, as are my work pants. I've usually just been wearing PJ pants wherever I go, but that wasn't going to fly for work. It's a good thing I have skirts that are a little loose! :) Anyway, my boss just came back from a conference in DC so I have some budgeting that I need to get done before I can start reading with a clear conscience, so I'm gonna head out and try to get through these next few chapters. Have a great one! XOXO

Oh, the pain! :)
Yesterday was quite the painful day, but it was so fun. So, in a way, it was definitely worth it! I have recently become a member of golds gym. My reasons were two fold: 1) running in the cold (or extreme heat) is not my cup of tea and seeing as how its freezing for over half the year here, it seemed like a good idea. 2) I have quite a few friends that are members too and thy make me go...good motivation! :) I've been hitting up the treadmills for the last little bit and I run about 3.6 miles a day which has really bummed out my muscles for the last couple of days. It doesn't stop there though...some of my friends and I decided to float down the Provo river again yesterday. However, I wasn't there when they were filling up all of the tubes and one of them either had a hole in it or they just didn't fill it up very much because we pulled it out of the truck and it really was kinda flimsy. They decided that since I'd done it before and that I was the lightest one out of all of them that I should have the little one. Yeah...good. haha. Anyway, they were all kinda scared about getting in because of the current, so I told them I would get in last. Yeah, bad idea. Because my tube was so small, I got in and it just kinda folded and died haha. My ankle preceded to hit countless numbers of large, pointy rocks and now I have some nice battle wounds there. Alas, that is not all, either! :) Since the tube wasn't blown up all the way, the center hole thing was a lot larger than what I'm used to. The end of the hole was where my knees were so I had to use my abs the whole 2ish hours we were floating down the river to keep myself from falling through...needless to say, I just sneezed a bit ago and it hurt. :) Because I was sagging out of my tube a slight bit though, every large rock that was in the river hit my butt. I swear, it was in exactly the same spot every time. I can't sit comfortably unless I have a pillow on that side, or if I lean forward. haha. good times. I also have quite the gash on my back. I'm not sure where it came from though. I think my butt hurt so bad that I didn't even notice it until I got back home. There was this one time when there was an extremely large rock that I didn't see was coming and my friend, Joyce, said that she literally saw my body get popped out of my tube. I remember that one hurting a lot. haha. Its never good when you can see and HEAR it. lol. We also all got massively sun burned, so that adds to the fun. It was definitely worth it though. Gotta love a nice, ghetto tubing experience. What's life without a little pain, right? It just builds character! :) I'm kinda bummed though...the battle wounds are awesome but I can't really show anyone cuz, well...ew. haha. Meh, well, I'll get over it!
After we got back, I met up with some girls from my freshman year ward and we went to Olive Garden. YUMMMM! It was sooo much fun to see everyone again. I had forgotten how I just laugh my head off the whole time whenever I'm with Alicia. Good times, girl! Ah, Freshman year. We came back to my place and watched all of the Pixar shorts which was way fun. After everyone left, I went back over to Irene's where she took care of Joyce, Jens and I because we were so pathetically in pain. She didn't get it as badly as the rest of us so she was kind enough to lather us up with aloe vera, cold rags and water. Thanks girl, you're a life saver! :) I think she had the best time out of all of us just looking at how sad we looked. It was definitely classic. Pictures were taken, but they will not be posted for obvious reasons. haha. Love it! :) Anyway, I'm gonna go eat me some breakfast. Have a GREAT day! XOXOWednesday, July 23, 2008
Cowboy, Take Me Away
So, after a few hours of slaving, I finally finished my new plaque thing....what do you think? I'm not the most 'artsie fartsie' person in the world, but I'm quite proud of it! :) Although Emily insists that I may not be 'artsie' but I'm definitely 'fartsie' so at least half of the phrase is right. hahah thanks girl. Love ya too! :) Tomorrow is the beloved Pioneer Day which means that I get Thursday AND Friday off. Yeah, that's right. Love it. I love Utah holidays. I'm so excited for the Rodeo tomorrow. It's gonna be most excellent. *does a lasso motion in the air, above her head* WAHOO! Yeah baby.
So, I was talking to Emily yesterday and we decided that we're gonna road trip to California before school starts, possibly during Labor Day weekend. Just as kind of a great start to the Fall semester! :) Besides, I haven't done nearly enough driving this summer for it to feel normal. haha. This was the first summer that I didn't drive home...I flew instead, so I'm a good 42 hours of driving, under the norm. I don't know what we're going to do there just yet. Emily wants to beach it up and I'm kinda feelin Disney World, maybe! :) Now I can finally decide for myself which is better...Disney Land or Disney World. And I'll be able to say that I've been to California! Maybe I should go to a taping of the Price is Right so I can mark that off of the list of things I want to do before I die. Who knows. My friend, Beth, lives there, so that would be fun to go see her too! We'll see...we don't really have plans just yet. Only that we want to get out of Provo one last time before we're trapped until Christmas time. :) Anyway, I'm gonna try to finish up Sydney's wall hanging that I'm making for her, so I'll catch y'all later. Have a great one! XOXO

Tribute to Erin
So, I guess the good thing about not having much to do at work is that I get to update my blog more often! :) I dunno if that's good for everyone else, but I kinda cheat a little and copy and paste what I write here and add it to my electronic journal and then add stuff as I see fit, so it's nice for my posterity. :)
Yesterday was a weird day, and I'll tell you why. Actually, now that I think of it, it started out weird and then it got really good/fun with some more weird stuff mixed in between. Anyway, it all started in the morning time when I was getting ready for work. I have my alarm set for 6:53 am. This allows me a couple of minutes, give or take, for those plucking eye brows, shaving and/or 'cant figure out what I'm going to wear today' days. Well, apparently, I didn't do any of those yesterday because I was ready for work about 10 minutes before I had to leave. It was weird. I just kinda sat there because even if I went in to work early, I technically couldn't clock in until 8 and I would have to stay until 5, so yeah...really no point in going in early. Alas, I did anyway and strangely enough, no one was here yet. My office isn't in the best part of town...kind of the ghetto of Provo, if you will, and so I was kinda nervous sitting in the office by myself, but luckily Isaac came about 20 minutes later. Then, I'm doing my usual morning ritual of facebooking and such and I find out that my friend, Shannon, got engaged this weekend. Those of you that know me beyond the wonderful world of blogging, know that I'm a very sensitive person, especially when it comes to this kind of thing. I'm always beyond happy for whoever it is, but I think that I've married off so many roommates and so many friends that instead of feeling numb to it, it just keeps hurting more and more each time. It's no helper of the self esteem either...blah. This one was especially hard on me, I think, because back home, our little group of girls that I hung out with are now all either married or spoken for except for me...just another reminder that I'm very single and not anywhere close to making any kind of commitment. I shouldn't let it get to me that much, but it does. I blame Provo. :) At least I still have Kami for sure though...unless there's something she hasn't told me yet! haha. Girl...lets get married at the same time okay? If either of us got married before the other, it would just stink! I think the thing that bothers me the most is the fact that I can't seem to stay "in like" with a guy for more than a week. Emily and I have this joke that when I tell her I like someone, she always asks, "how long have you liked him?" And I usually respond with, well...I didn't like him yesterday...or, one of my personal favorites..."yeah, I don't really like him anymore." She asks why and I have to say that I have no idea. Really...there isn't ever a reason. I wish I could control my feelings, however, if I could, I definitely wouldn't be doing the single thing now anyway! :) I'm sure it will all make sense someday, but until then, I'll just wander around in the confusion. Although, the guy that I'm crushing on now has lasted for like 5 days now...impressive. haha. I haven't seen him though, so maybe that's why. He is pretty awesome, so it makes perfect sense that I like him...I'm just wowed that I'm still hangin on! :) I think one of the harder things for me was the whole Trevor relationship last year. I was happy, but I knew that I wasn't as happy as I could be and as I wanted to be. When the whole marriage thing came up, I had to say no which was not easy. Anyway...back to the story...wow that was a long tangent! My bad!
So, my friend, Erin is absolutely great! We met up for lunch yesterday which was very therapeutic. Erin is another one of those girls who just make me laugh all the time. It's so great. We have so much in common that it's almost scary at times. I love it! Anyway, after we returned to work, I was telling her about this wall hanging that I was wanting to try and create and so she came with me to this place called Roberts....I LOVE it. I can't believe I've never heard of it before. It's like Michaels but better. Anyway, we went shopping, got all the stuff for it and crafted away until about midnight. It was awesome. She was so good to help me with it. We grabbed some pizza and crazy bread and watched a countless number of Friends episodes as we worked away. I'm making two...one for me and one for my friend. It was her idea and I decided that I wanted to take on the project....I have a strange love for crafts even though I'm really not that good at it. Anyway, we had so much fun that it made for a great end to a disappointing morning. Thanks girl...you're awesome. I dunno what I'd do without you! I'll post pictures when I finish them today...it should only take me about 2 hours more at the most. Its a plaque thing that says, "Someday my Cowboy will come." How cute right? I'm a sucker for southern boys. I can't help it. :)
To report, today started out much better. I got done on regular time and when I got here, my first job assigned to me was to figure out if there was such a thing as 'wear your pajamas to work day.' I am happy to report that it is April 18th. We are, however, changing it to a more closer date and are saying that we'll do it before the semester starts. Maybe even tomorrow. We'll see. haha. Good times at work. That may just be the extent of the work they give me today. I'm not sure. Oh and on another note...I finally finished all 7 Narnia books so I'm going to move on to reading Twilight, by many of my friend's requests. It should be good...at least from what I've heard anyway! :) I hope you all have a GREAT day and I'm sorry that the beginning wasn't the happiest of reports...I'll try not to bum y'all out on a regular basis! :) XOXO

All About Me (buckle up!)
So, I have recently discovered that my friend, Adam, has a blog! Who knew that other people who aren't married have blogs? I always laugh because on everyone's blog site it always has blog links to the blogs they read right? And usually, everyone on their list are married couples except for me. Needless to say that I was excited when I found out that both Adam and Mellissa have blogs. It made me feel like less of a loser. So thanks, y'all! :) Anyway, I was reading through Adam's blog, trying to catch up on the last 6 months of his life and I found this thing on here that made me kinda happy. It reminded me of the good ol days when I would get these in emails and for some reason, I LOVED filling them out. Not because I was afraid that I would have bad luck with love for the next 7 years if I didn't fill it out, but just that I loved getting them back from people to learn things about them that I didn't know before! Plus, everyone that I sent it to could learn new ways that I was weird and abnormal. haha. Everyone loves that right? :) Although, come to think of it...I have outlasted most of my roommates in the whole relationship/getting married thing...maybe those few surveys that I didn't fill out and send to 10 people really did curse me...the word is out. You shouldn't ignore them. :)
A-Attached or Single: As clearly stated above, single. But very attached to corn dogs and homemade french fries at the moment :)
B-Best Friend: This one is actually really easy. It kinda made me sweat for bit when I thought that I would have to pick one out of all of my wonderful friends, but then I thought, "Silly, Auntie! Who has been there through EVERYTHING with you? Gotten you through all of those rough times and all the great ones?" That's right... its Mr. Rogers. hahaha jk!! Definitely my sister, Meredith. You rock my socks girl! From me drinking your perfume, to you throwing all of my play make-up away because it was 'ugly' (was that pay back by the way?), we've been through a lot together and I cant wait for all the awesome adventures we have ahead of us! Love you bad, girl! XOXO
C-Cake or Pie: How about a combo of both? Is that cheating? Boston Cream Pie is the way to my heart. Its technically cake, but very pie-esque. Love it!
D-Day of Choice: 'I would have to say, April 23rd because it's not too hot, and not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!' haha I'm sorry...I just had to! I would say Saturdays right now. I get to sleep in and usually get to do something fun! :)
E-Essential Item: My 'man' pillow. Its actually not essential for ME, but essential for those sleeping around me if they don't like me cuddling up really close to them in the wee hours of the night. Ask anyone that I've shared a bed with...it happens every time. I can't help it. I must cuddle when I sleep.
F-Favorite Color: Green. Although, that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. ERIN GO BRAGH! (Loose translation: Ireland Forever!)
G-Gummi Bears or Worms: Well, I'm not really supposed to have them...bad teeth structure. Prone to cavities. Sad day, huh? BUT probably worms if I had to choose. And FYI, they're better when they are sour.
H-Hometown: Even though I was born close to Seattle, I claim Fort Worth as my hometown. Good ol southern cooking, humidity and unbearable heat. I love it! :)
I-Indulgence(s): As sick as this sounds, I'm gonna have to go with Gerber Meat Sticks. No one but Meredith will really understand if I try to explain, but know that 1 little jar of those things can make a bad day turn bright. Not to mention that they are a great way to celebrate something. Not kidding. When my drill team won nationals (or maybe it was regionals) my senior year of high school, there was a jar sitting on the counter for me from my parents. Much better than flowers...flowers die.
J-January or July: January...it's the best month. Mostly because it's my birthday month, but yeah...I like it :)
K-Kids: Love em! Especially my two nieces. They are the cutest kids on the planet!
L-Life Is Incomplete Without: Family, the Church, friends, music, dancing, food and flip flops.
M-Marriage Date: Well, when I was little, I was always hoping for 08/08/08 because 8 is my lucky number, but seeing as how that is less than a month away, I don't think that's gonna work out so well. So I'm thinking I need to come up with a different plan! :)
N-Number of Siblings: Two. Older sister, older brother. Best sibs anyone could ask for! I love y'all!
O-Oranges or Apples: Apples. Ever since I could drink apple juice again without throwing up, I've grown to love everything that I had been deprived of for so many years due to an unfortunate family car trip from Montana to Washington. Sorry about that, Meredith. haha. siiiick!
P-Phobias or Fears: I have this strange fear of June Bugs. They scare me. A lot. On a more serious note, I also have a very large fear of never marrying and being alone. I don't think I would handle that too well. It makes me sad just thinking about it! I need a family, that's for darn sure!
Q-Quote: There are oh so many...one of the first that entered my life was, "Service is like wetting your pants. Everyone can see what you've done but only you feel the warmth."
R-Reason to Smile: I have so many reasons...but I can't stop smiling every time I turn on my computer and see the picture of my two nieces on the background of my computer screen. I love them so much!
S-Season: Spring. I love it when everything turns green and blooming. Or in the case of Texas, when everything starts becoming un-dead for a few months before the awful summer heat hits. Plus, there are fun rain storms and sometimes tornadoes, which I love!
T-Tag Six: Meredith, Mellissa, Jen, Zarah, Alicia and Adrienne. Luckily all of them are married except for Mellissa...you'd better fill it out girl...you don't want to end up with bad luck with love for the next 7 years haha.
U-Unknown Fact About Me: I'm extremely OCD about cleaning and organizing things. My clothes are clumped in their respective colors in my closet and if the kitchen/downstairs is a mess, it drives me crazy. Cleaning is actually quite fun for me! On another note, I can pretty much sing along with and quote almost any movie that I've seen more than 3 times. Its a gift. I can't help it.
V-Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: Yes, sadly I am an oppressor. Life without meat would be no life at all.
W-Worst Habit: hahah this is kinda gross....but sometimes I fart or burp without really thinking about where I am or what I'm doing. I forget that it grosses some people out and that most think it's not polite. Apparently, my family has no manners. haha.
X-X-Rays or Ultrasounds: Probably ultrasounds. I've never had one, however I have had x-rays and it wasn't fun. Mostly because I was really sick...so yeah, definitely ultra sounds.
Y-Your Favorite Food: that's a hard one. Probably rolls of all things. I love bread with a passion. However, if you are looking for a REAL food, then I would have to say Pepper Steak. Its just too good to not enjoy every bite.
Z-Zippers or Zebras: I'm not sure how these are related but I'm gonna have to go with zippers. They serve a better purpose for me than Zebras. They do look pretty though. :)
So there it is. I hope this wasn't completely boring for everyone. Although, if it was, I guess it's your own darn fault that you read it all the way through! :) Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours!
