Watch out for that...door?

Alright, alright, alright...time for what may be one of the best stories of your week. It all started on a dreary Tuesday night. I wasn't feeling well at all and I was pretty sure that I had a fever. Since this isn't the first time this has happened, I asked my roommate, who was going to the store, to pick up a thermometer for me and I would pay her back. So, long story short, turns out the thermometer didn't work so I had to exchange it for one that did, the next day. Keep in mind, it was more of a chilly night and I still wasn't feeling 100% chipper and I wanted to get home soon so I was walking...briskly. :) Anyway, I'm digging through my purse to find the thermometer so I can have it ready to exchange, all the while keeping my perriphrial vision on the opening to the door. However, right as I'm looking up, I run smack dab into the glass window. When I came to, I analyzed the situation and realized that I had walked right into the part that doesn't move. The sliding part was a little more to my left. Well, it hurt really bad, but I figure, whatever...I do stuff like this all the time. I can shake it off. I walk to the customer service counter and the lady has this really concerned look on her face as soon as she sees me. It wasn't the happy, how can I help you look...oh no. So I was a little worried that maybe she saw me and just felt sorry for me, and then I realized that my eyes were watering from the recent blow to my head, so I thought maybe she was thinking I was tearing up because my thermometer didn't work or something. haha. Anyway, so I get it exchanged and I'm doing a little grocery shopping and it's hurting real bad so I think to myself that maybe I should try to look at it to see if there was any damage done. So i find the sun glasses display and I look into the mirror only to find that there is a gash in the side of my nose and there's blood! There wasn't too much, but it hadn't clotted yet, so it was kinda icky. Anyway, I laughed a LOT so I decided to text some of my friends that I knew I wouldn't see for a while because well, everyone should know about this. haha. Plus, this way, me laughing to myself looked somewhat more legit since I was texting. I didn't want people to think I was some crazy lady at the grocery store that laughs to herself (in abundace) while she shops. That's kinda weird, ya know? So, anyway, I get home and my roommates are watching American Idol and that commercial comes on where she's like "Car On" "Door Open" BAM. haha we definitely laughed HARD.

My mom seems to think that I'll get some sort of black eye. I haven't seen a whole lot of bruising yet but Emily says she can see where its getting darker around where my cut is. I'm really hoping that I get a black eye tho. How great would that be? Honestly. My dream come true! haha. Sadly, I'm not being sarcastic at all. lol. I was really hoping for one this morning, but NOTHING. It was like I was waking up for Christmas morning only to find that Santa didn't bring me anything. BLAH. Sometimes that guy really burns me up! :) It's still hurting pretty bad today. Not that it helps that I have a head cold so it kills everytime I blow my nose, but ya know. I'm gonna try to get it checked out tomorrow to see if I broke it or cracked it or something. hahah How funny would that be? I broke my nose because of running into a glass door at a grocery store. lol. You just know after I left, the manager came over the loud speaker and called an emergency staff meeting so they could watch the security tape over and over. lol. This is definitely a moment that I'm gonna wanna watch when I die and can watch my life movie. haha. I'm sure it looked a LOT more awesome than it felt. :) Anyway, that's my story. I hope it brighted all y'alls days! Heart yall bad! XOXO

Life's Unanswerable Questions

Howdy, howdy, howdy! So, this week has been kinda interesting. I'm not really gonna write about it on here, but lets just say there's been a lot going on, good and bad. But, I guess you can't have the good without the bad right? Its times like these when I really would just love it if the Lord would tell me why certain things are happening or what I should do in certain situations or why stuff like this keeps happening. I'm beginning to think I'm 1 of 2 things: 1) I'm either severly broken, in which case...bleh (haha) or 2) I still have some kind of lesson to learn and apparently, I haven't learned it yet. Well and then there's the whole Lord's timing thing. I know it will all make sense after its all over and I can look back on everything, but right now, its pretty sucky. I got to go to the temple this morning which is ALWAYS awesome, so that helped a little. And last night was Michael's baseball game and he definitely played this time and we were all very excited about it! My friend, Kat, and I (and her boyfriend) went and saw 27 dresses afterward which was fun, but it wasn't one of my favorites...pretty much a movie about my life. lol. I'm glad she ended up marrying the hot guy tho. That always gives me some good hope! :)

Tuesday, Enchanted came out and can I tell you how much that movie rocks? haha. There's nothing to hate about that movie! it never gets old either, which is definitely a good thing. I'm getting excited for Easter Sunday! Since Puden isn't here this year, I'm going up to my roommate, Jen's, grandparent's house after my meetings n stuff. We always have fun up there, so that'll be good. Much better than making myself a waffle and taking a long nap. I never sleep well Sunday nights because of those. You'd think I'd learn my lesson, but I really don't think that I will. haha. They are just too good to not do it! :)

The Joys of St. Patties Day!

HOLLA! Happy St. Pat's! I hope everyone's has been wicked awesome! My celebration pretty much started last Monday, but that's to be expected right? Although, that does mean that after today, it's all over. *sadness overcomes her* Its alright though, I still get to decorate for Easter and that's always good!

Friday was my Annual St. Pat's party which is always fun! Lots of green food, games, Lord of the Dance and root beer chugging! Can't beat that ya know? So yeah, it was definitely fun. Saturday, Laura (my roommate) and I ran the Rex Lee Run 10K. We are still high fiving ourselves since we ran the entire 6.2 miles without stopping and each mile averaged out to be a 10 minute mile. I had no idea I was capable of doing that...my body definitely was mad at me for the last two days, but I'm feeling up to running again, so I'll probably hit that up again starting tomorrow...or maybe Thursday. haha. After the run was over, we jumped into the hot tub since our muscles hurt so bad and then I crashed on my bed for THREE hours. Definitely didn't mean to. I was supposed to take a test so I didn't have to today, but I guess that didn't happen! :) Kami came in town too so I drove up to West Jordan and we crashed on the couch and watched movies and talked a lot. Good times! Those are the best days where I can just relax and not worry about anything!

Sunday was good too. Other than my usual meetings and church, we had our Enrichment Fireside which was really good. It was all about the importance of temples, so Irene (one of my really good friends in the ward, and my 1st counselor) and I decided that we were going to start going to the temple every Friday morning. I used to be so good last year. I would go once a week and now I'm definitely slacking. I forget how blessed I am to have the temple be just up the street. So, I'm definitely excited that we'll be doing that together! We also had DISNEY night as usual which is always fun. This time was especially good tho cuz me and Jeremiah held hands! BWAHAHAHA. Not to worry...I've already done my usual freak out mode. Thanks to Isaac (my friend at work), I'm feeling better. He's always so good to let me unload on him. And he's pretty good at telling me to stop worrying and get over it. haha. Love it. The best part is, is that everyone knew that my freaking out was coming, they just didn't know when...so at least they were prepared. haha. At first I was worried that it was too soon after Trevor, which, it may be...only time will tell, but I'm not gonna know if I don't try it out right? I'll be sure to keep yall posted!

Today has been good so far. I rode with Jeremiah up to campus today so that was fun, I had my devil class and then I went browsing at the mall for about an hour, looking for an easter dress. I didn't find anything that really grabbed me except for one...and its more fall colors, but I'm over it, so I think i'm gonna go back and get it today. Now, I'm at work and have nothing to do again. I was supposed to be editing my poster for my presentation that I have to give next month for our research, but my boss forgot to look over my rough draft, so I guess I'll just save that for Wednesday. I start observing in the schools again tomorrow so I'm pretty excited about that. I always love observing the cute little kids. There's always something hilarious that happens. Kids are just too funny! Once I get off work, I need to go study a little bit more and take my test and then its off to the grocery store! I really need to be better at having more of a food supply considering that we're about 100 years overdue for an earthquake round these parts and there's no tellin what I'm going to need, so that's going to be my goal tomorrow. Our bishop told us that if it was within our means, that we should probably have enough to live off of for 2 weeks. I definitely have enough for pancakes for two weeks, but you know...that should be a given! haha. Later tonight, we're going over to Jen and Derricks for some ice cream and Duck Tales. It should be freakin awesome! You can't go wrong with Duck Tales. Anyway, maybe I'll post pictures from Friday if I remember...we'll see! Anyway, love yall and I'll catch ya lata! XOXO

CrAzY Days

So, this last week has been pretty emotional for all the good and all the bad. Last Friday night, my Bishop's wife went into the hospital for a fatal disease called C Dyphillis. I have no idea how to spell it, so I took a shot at it, but anyway, it's really rare and they thought she wasn't going to make it for a few days. In order to be considered malnourished, you have to be a 16 on the scale and she was an 8 for about 72 hours or more. The Bishop told me that he honestly thought he was going to be single for the rest of his life. We were all really worried. But, luckily, Wednesday morning she took a turn for the better. She's still pretty weak, but she'll make it through ok. Yet another something that proves to me that prayer and fasting works! It doesn't get much better than that. When the Bishop called me to hurry and get to campus that night, I was really freaking out, but when I got there, there was definitely a lot of celebration going on. Sheesh...talk about tricky/sneaky.

I went to the hospital to visit her yesterday and I brought my friend Jeremiah with me. He's new to the ward this semester and the new executive secretary guy so he wanted to come since he's had some close contact with the Bishop and his family, you know? Anyway, about a hour and a half passed when the Bishop stopped what he was talking about and looked at me and said...wait...is there something going on between you two? hahah. We were laughing pretty hard and saying things like no...we just came together. No sense in driving two cars right? So we keep talking and then he stops again and was like wait...you never answered my question...is there anything going on? Then he looks at Jeremiah and was like you know you're in really good company! And then he looks at me and says the same thing. haha. Definitely awkwardish but totally worth it since it was so funny. As we were leaving, I was saying bye to Sister Shell and Bishop pulled Jeremiah outside and started talking to him and giving me that look like...well you know the one I'm talking about. The one like he's up to something that I'm not allowed to be around for. Afterwards, Jeremiah was like so, the Bishop and his family REALLy think highly of you. hahah I was too scared to ask what Bishop was talking to him about, but meh...I'm over it. I just thought it was absolutely hilarious!

Anyway, its midterm month, and I've had 3 this week and 2 next week and a paper due Monday. These are the times that I really don't like. Although, St. Patties Day is coming up and I can't wait! I'm having a sleepover tonight with some girls that I used to work with that I really don't see anymore so I'm pretty darn excited about that! AND 'Baseball Mike's' first home baseball game is on Tuesday so we're all gonna go and show the love! He's actually gonna be playing TCU in Fort Worth when I'm there in May so that will be fun to go and see him play on my turf! :)

I'm cutting my friend's hair for the first time...ever. I've BICed his head before, but I've never actually cut hair and needed it to look good. Well, except for my own, which really didn't turn out at all, but that didn't matter cuz it was me...oye. I'm scared. haha. We're having a roommate group date tomorrow night too. I was gonna take Bishop's daughter out for a girls night to kind of let her get away from everything, but she said she wanted to do it on the 21st, so my saturday opened up and they were planning the date, so I thought I'd get in on it! I'm pretty excited! We're gonna play night games, which means, 1) its gonna be freakishly cold and 2) well, yeah i don't know what two would be...I'm still focusing on the cold part. You should all know that I don't function well in cold weather. Something always breaks.

We played "Rock Band" today at work. haha. Good times. And I really have nothing to do for the next 30 minutes so I don't feel the least bit guilty that I'm getting paid to write on my blog. Anyway, I'm feelin a good game of sudoku or somethin coming on, so I'll catch y'all later. Heartcha! XOXO

Ode to my family

Hey Y'all! So, I've been thinking about a lot of things this past week, and I realized how blessed I am to have such an awesome family. So, more for my memory's sake rather than interest or entertainment for everyone else, I thought I would compile a list of fun memories that I have of my family. Obviously, I can't put everything down, but I've decided to keep this list in my journal and frequently add to it, so here it goes:

1. Making picket signs out of rulers and construction paper and picketing around mom and dad's room for a trampoline.
2. Being bounced off that trampoline to many times to count...hence, the nickname Bandaid! :)
3. Dad falling off the said trampoline into the wood pile.
4. Playing on Grandma and Grandpa's treadmill in their basement.
5. Running down the hallway of their basement and sliding through the tile room in our socks until we hit the wall...or the floor! :)
6. Spending the night in Meredith's room too many nights to count.
7. Staying awake and laughing for hours with Meredith.
8. Pulling Meredith's end table on top of me in the middle of the night and not waking up..."Do you want some breath spray?" hahaha
9. Dive bombing Puden in the mornings with mom to wake him up.

17. Badmitton in the backyard.
18. Making up a dance to "Get On Your Feet" with Meredith and Puden and our neighbors.
19. "Auntie, I love you"
20. Coming home from a late night to wake up mom to tell her I'm home and freak her out since she was sleeping!
21. Homemade New Kids on the Block concerts
22. Playing Bambi upstairs
23. Building forts and staying up late to play Super Nintendo and watch Star Wars inside it
24. Mom throwing a roll at dad's head during dinner, and dad throwing a roll to kill a fly on the wall.
25. -"We're going to meet Grandpa for lunch."

32. Quoting movies with Meredith
33. Going to Puden's basketball games
32. Daddy daughter dates to 6-flags
33. Trying to be quiet on Christmas morning so we didn't wake up mom and dad, but we always did anyway.

Anyway, there's lots more but I"m sure y'all don't want to hear all about them. haha. Anyway, love yall bad! Hope you have a great week!! XOXO
