All About Me (buckle up!)

So, I have recently discovered that my friend, Adam, has a blog! Who knew that other people who aren't married have blogs? I always laugh because on everyone's blog site it always has blog links to the blogs they read right? And usually, everyone on their list are married couples except for me. Needless to say that I was excited when I found out that both Adam and Mellissa have blogs. It made me feel like less of a loser. So thanks, y'all! :) Anyway, I was reading through Adam's blog, trying to catch up on the last 6 months of his life and I found this thing on here that made me kinda happy. It reminded me of the good ol days when I would get these in emails and for some reason, I LOVED filling them out. Not because I was afraid that I would have bad luck with love for the next 7 years if I didn't fill it out, but just that I loved getting them back from people to learn things about them that I didn't know before! Plus, everyone that I sent it to could learn new ways that I was weird and abnormal. haha. Everyone loves that right? :) Although, come to think of it...I have outlasted most of my roommates in the whole relationship/getting married thing...maybe those few surveys that I didn't fill out and send to 10 people really did curse me...the word is out. You shouldn't ignore them. :)

A-Attached or Single: As clearly stated above, single. But very attached to corn dogs and homemade french fries at the moment :)
B-Best Friend: This one is actually really easy. It kinda made me sweat for bit when I thought that I would have to pick one out of all of my wonderful friends, but then I thought, "Silly, Auntie! Who has been there through EVERYTHING with you? Gotten you through all of those rough times and all the great ones?" That's right... its Mr. Rogers. hahaha jk!! Definitely my sister, Meredith. You rock my socks girl! From me drinking your perfume, to you throwing all of my play make-up away because it was 'ugly' (was that pay back by the way?), we've been through a lot together and I cant wait for all the awesome adventures we have ahead of us! Love you bad, girl! XOXO
C-Cake or Pie: How about a combo of both? Is that cheating? Boston Cream Pie is the way to my heart. Its technically cake, but very pie-esque. Love it!
D-Day of Choice: 'I would have to say, April 23rd because it's not too hot, and not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!' haha I'm sorry...I just had to! I would say Saturdays right now. I get to sleep in and usually get to do something fun! :)
E-Essential Item: My 'man' pillow. Its actually not essential for ME, but essential for those sleeping around me if they don't like me cuddling up really close to them in the wee hours of the night. Ask anyone that I've shared a bed with...it happens every time. I can't help it. I must cuddle when I sleep.
F-Favorite Color: Green. Although, that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. ERIN GO BRAGH! (Loose translation: Ireland Forever!)
G-Gummi Bears or Worms: Well, I'm not really supposed to have them...bad teeth structure. Prone to cavities. Sad day, huh? BUT probably worms if I had to choose. And FYI, they're better when they are sour.
H-Hometown: Even though I was born close to Seattle, I claim Fort Worth as my hometown. Good ol southern cooking, humidity and unbearable heat. I love it! :)
I-Indulgence(s): As sick as this sounds, I'm gonna have to go with Gerber Meat Sticks. No one but Meredith will really understand if I try to explain, but know that 1 little jar of those things can make a bad day turn bright. Not to mention that they are a great way to celebrate something. Not kidding. When my drill team won nationals (or maybe it was regionals) my senior year of high school, there was a jar sitting on the counter for me from my parents. Much better than flowers...flowers die.
J-January or July: January...it's the best month. Mostly because it's my birthday month, but yeah...I like it :)
K-Kids: Love em! Especially my two nieces. They are the cutest kids on the planet!
L-Life Is Incomplete Without: Family, the Church, friends, music, dancing, food and flip flops.
M-Marriage Date: Well, when I was little, I was always hoping for 08/08/08 because 8 is my lucky number, but seeing as how that is less than a month away, I don't think that's gonna work out so well. So I'm thinking I need to come up with a different plan! :)
N-Number of Siblings: Two. Older sister, older brother. Best sibs anyone could ask for! I love y'all!
O-Oranges or Apples: Apples. Ever since I could drink apple juice again without throwing up, I've grown to love everything that I had been deprived of for so many years due to an unfortunate family car trip from Montana to Washington. Sorry about that, Meredith. haha. siiiick!
P-Phobias or Fears: I have this strange fear of June Bugs. They scare me. A lot. On a more serious note, I also have a very large fear of never marrying and being alone. I don't think I would handle that too well. It makes me sad just thinking about it! I need a family, that's for darn sure!
Q-Quote: There are oh so many...one of the first that entered my life was, "Service is like wetting your pants. Everyone can see what you've done but only you feel the warmth."
R-Reason to Smile: I have so many reasons...but I can't stop smiling every time I turn on my computer and see the picture of my two nieces on the background of my computer screen. I love them so much!
S-Season: Spring. I love it when everything turns green and blooming. Or in the case of Texas, when everything starts becoming un-dead for a few months before the awful summer heat hits. Plus, there are fun rain storms and sometimes tornadoes, which I love!
T-Tag Six: Meredith, Mellissa, Jen, Zarah, Alicia and Adrienne. Luckily all of them are married except for Mellissa...you'd better fill it out girl...you don't want to end up with bad luck with love for the next 7 years haha.
U-Unknown Fact About Me: I'm extremely OCD about cleaning and organizing things. My clothes are clumped in their respective colors in my closet and if the kitchen/downstairs is a mess, it drives me crazy. Cleaning is actually quite fun for me! On another note, I can pretty much sing along with and quote almost any movie that I've seen more than 3 times. Its a gift. I can't help it.
V-Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: Yes, sadly I am an oppressor. Life without meat would be no life at all.
W-Worst Habit: hahah this is kinda gross....but sometimes I fart or burp without really thinking about where I am or what I'm doing. I forget that it grosses some people out and that most think it's not polite. Apparently, my family has no manners. haha.
X-X-Rays or Ultrasounds: Probably ultrasounds. I've never had one, however I have had x-rays and it wasn't fun. Mostly because I was really sick...so yeah, definitely ultra sounds.
Y-Your Favorite Food: that's a hard one. Probably rolls of all things. I love bread with a passion. However, if you are looking for a REAL food, then I would have to say Pepper Steak. Its just too good to not enjoy every bite.
Z-Zippers or Zebras: I'm not sure how these are related but I'm gonna have to go with zippers. They serve a better purpose for me than Zebras. They do look pretty though. :)

So there it is. I hope this wasn't completely boring for everyone. Although, if it was, I guess it's your own darn fault that you read it all the way through! :) Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours!

Weekend from Heaven

Wow...so this weekend was absolutely wonderful! It all started with my boss telling me that I could leave work 2 hours early so I could get to be with Jen longer. I was so excited! Mostly because everyone else in the office went to see The Dark Knight again and I was a little jealous that that they left Lynnette and me in the office to fend for ourselves. haha. Anyway, so I go home and pack and head up to SLC to Jen's grandparent's house. It was great. It's tradition that every time we are over there, we have Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner. As soon as I see Jen, she is followed by her mom who is carrying something. I look over and what do I see? What else? Papa Murphy's pizza! I was so happy! All of the adults went out to eat, so it was Jen, her sister, Laura, Laura's friend, Jess and me chowing down on the pizza! We played games, watched the office, and when it got darkish outside we set out some blankets and looked at the stars as we talked/laughed ourselves to sleep! It was so therapeutic and just what I needed. I heart you Jen! :)

I left early this morning to head back to Provo where we had a field day activity with the ward. It was way too much fun! We had a tug of war, 3 legged race relay, and all the fun games from back in the day. My team definitely won which was GREAT. You all know how I love to win! :)

We each got medals and then we had a HUGE egg fight. We had an egg toss thing for fun and then it just kind of erupted into something very smelly and messy. But, since I was there, it really doesn't surprise me that some sort of food fight was started. I am reminded of last winter when a bunch of us had just gotten back from watching Enchanted at the dollar movies and Emily and I were getting a drink of water and I just randomly dumped mine on her head.

Its a good thing that my friends are cool and down with random things like water and egg fights :) Love it! May I draw your attention to the wetness? Yeah...good times!

Anyway, after we got cleaned up and I went grocery shopping, my girls and I (plus Amelia's husband) went and got full body massages. Now, I've never had one before so I wasn't quite sure exactly what was going to happen and there were a few surprises along the way...

So, everything is good and then she's like okay, I'm going to start massaging your buttocks now. So she starts goin at it and asks me if I was comfortable. I was so incredibly relaxed and my butt had been hurting from sitting on it all the time that I said yes. As I'm laying there I'm thinking, wow...I hope she's not judging me. haha. Seriously though, laying under a sheet with some random girl massaging my butt is usually not a situation that I or any normal person should be comfortable with. haha. Good times though. So anyway, she's workin it and I realize I have to fart. Yeah, bad times. Luckily, I didn't, but still. She starts working on my legs which I was extra excited about since they've been hurting for a while with my serious lack of sleep lately. (gotta love RLS right?) And then I realize that I haven't shaved my legs since Sunday...yeah, nice. The poor girl. The sad thing is, I was so relaxed and it felt so good that I hardly even cared. I think I might have even drooled a little. hahaha. siiiick. Anyway, I'm heading over to Joyce's to complete my lazy day by watching a movie. I hope y'all all had a great weekend! Heartcha! XOXO

The Dark Knight

Okay, so I went to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight last night and I tell you what, it was by far the best movie I've seen all summer. Easily. It was definitely dark but Heath Ledger did such an AMAZING job as the Joker that wow...so good. He definitely stole away the show. I was sitting in the theater about 2 hours into the movie and I didn't want it to end. You know it's good when the RLS girl wants to keep sitting. :) I was completely bummed when I remembered the slight fact that Heath Ledger is now dead and wont be around to make the next one. I really don't know if anyone can fill his shoes with this. He was THAT good. He was creepy and demented in such an awesome way. lol. Wow, so good. It definitely put the first movie to shame. I can't wait until I get to see it again. I kept hearing the Joker's laugh last night when I was sleeping...the whole 3 hours that I got. haha. Good times. Seriously though, during the first 5 minutes of the movie, you see just how twisted the Joker really is and we were all in shock with what happened that you kind of have to laugh because it really wasn't what you were expecting at all. Key phrase: "Watch me make this pencil disappear." haha oh man. Intense. Anyway, I highly recommend the movie. Maybe not to Meredith though...I think it would creep you out too much. You're too delicate for that sort of behavior. :) I'm definitely already yearning to watch it again though!

With that said, I'm going to try to make it through work today without completely falling over from lack of sleep. Jen is coming tonight and we have a field day activity tomorrow morning which means that I wont actually get much sleep until Sunday, but that's okay. It was soooo worth it! :) I can catch up on my sleep next week. They are giving us Thursday and Friday off for Pioneer Day. haha oh how I love Utah in July. :) There is this Rodeo in Spanish Fork that my friends and I are going to and there are fireworks afterwards. These people are just really into Pioneer Day and I'm definitely glad about that! :)

Oh man...I got a new roommate yesterday. It was actually pretty funny cuz I'm sitting on the couch, enjoying an episode of Friends during my lunch break and all of a sudden, the door opens and this random girl walks in. lol. My manager promptly followed her in and said SURPRISE! :) So, I've got 3 roommates now. At least for the next three weeks anyway. I think she's from Venezuela. She doesn't speak English very well but is learning quickly so that's good! If only I paid more attention in High School Spanish class. Mr. Salas...I apologize! :) Anyway, I'm gonna go distract myself with some sudoku or Chuck episodes. See y'all!! XOXO

My Girls

Okay, first off, I wanna say, I LOVE YOU EMILY! haha oh man...for those who don't know, Emily is my roommate from last year who has survived my curse and is moving back in with me in the Fall. I'm so darn excited. I've talked to her on the phone a good 5 or 6 times this summer and I swear to you, every time, I laugh for the entire hour or so that we're talking. And not just little chuckles. We're talkin hardcore crying from your cheeks hurting, laughing. Good times. We're gonna have so much fun next year. We kept getting disconnected last night and one time, I had called her back and I had to belch really bad and she said "Hello" which was promptly followed by a fairly large burp and then, I kid you not, we laughed hysterically for like 5 minutes. Good times laughing about nothing. Em, I can't wait for all of our bunk bed adventures next year and you waking up to me falling off the top bunk every morning! haha.

Jen is coming to visit me this weekend too! I'm so excited. Jen is also another roommate who survived my curse, but she graduated in June so she's gone now *very sad* It makes me very excited for Friday and our slumber party! I miss my girls! Jen is another one of those girls who laughs with me for hours when we're together. The best part is, is we usually always do the same things...watch the office and/or David Archuleta videos, or just sit and talk about crazy things and laugh our heads off. You girls are so therapeutic! I love it! I think one of my favorite things about Jen is that, to the onlooker, she seems to be the type of person who is very quiet and shy, but really she's absolutely hilarious! She says the funniest things on a constant basis. Awww, I heart y'all! :) Last year, our other roommates were all engaged and so we constantly found ourselves together. We seriously had weekends where we maybe spent 5 minutes apart. One activity would end and I would go in my room and they would go in theirs and a few moments later, one of us was in the other's room saying, "ummm...guys...what are y'all doin?" The other would promptly respond with a laugh and then, "I don't know, but I was just about to come ask you the same thing!" lol...good times. Emily and I told our friend Adam, who is also moving back into Sparks, that he has to come over at least once a day and make sure that Emily and I are social with him and other people...I honestly think we could be completely content in our apartment together for quite a long time. I kind of feel bad for the two new roommates that we get. That is if people actually sign up. When i came back, it was still just the two of us in the apartment, which, I gotta say, would be awesome! In preparation for new roommates though, we created a list of things that might be useful for them to know while living with us. There are 39 so far. Some of which include, 'Expect us to try to pile everyone on one bed at least once a semester. Probably more like 2 or 3 times,' or 'Sundays are USUALLY Waffle days. Tara makes good waffles, Em doesn't make good waffles. Still, we eat them. We make them right when we get home from church, before we take a nap. The timing is very precise, we are usually starvin when we get home.' That will be especially true because next year we have 1 o'clock church. *bummed out* One of my favorite rules is, 'When we try to fulfill our need for competition, we will do things like see who can take the quickest shower. If you don't participate, you will forever be labeled as LP.' An 'LP' is our shortened version of Lame Pants. We also have names like AP and CP (angry pants and crazy pants). If we're having a PMS day or something, we make sure to let people know that we have our APs on and that's why we're being dumb. Usually people on our LP list have done something stupid that warrants being called lame until they redeem themselves. And here's the ultimate rule, 'Emily and Tara love to play wii with Dave...if he calls and invites us over, expect us to drop any and all prior plans that we had to go play with him.' It's sad but true. We have an addiction. I've never seen ANYONE get more into the Wii games than Dave. It's entirely too great.

On another note, we had FHE last night at the 1st counselors house, so we all had to drive out to American Fork...or maybe its Spanish Fork...I dunno...one of the forks. :) Anyway, the people in my car were AWESOME cuz I had been blasting my country music the last time I was in the car and when I turned the car on, everyone starting singing the lyrics in the loudest voices possible. So, we had no choice but to turn it up louder, roll down the windows and sing at the top of our lungs. Good times! After we got back from that, I went over to Marcus's and cut his hair. I really think he's asking for it...I've done it once before and it took me like 2 hours. haha. I did cut my time in half this time though and I THINK it looked better than it did the first time. Maybe not though. It could just be wishful thinking. :) Anyway, this post is insanely long so I'm gonna head out. Tootles!! XOXO

Brainstorming

So, I've been back to work for a little over a week now and they haven't had anything for us to do since I've gotten here. My first day back, my boss told me to find something to entertain myself. haha. I've played a lot of sudoku and watched Chuck which has been nice, but I'm ready for real work. Today one of my other bosses came up and said, "We've been brainstorming of things that you can do so you aren't totally bored..." This is what they came up with: They asked me to search the entire office for this binder that has been missing since June. They told me that I had to go search in everyone's personal offices, in all of their stuff and any other place, that I could think of, that it could possibly be. It was weird. I felt like a major snooper. Especially when they were in the office while I was searching. Talk about not cool. My coworkers have officially named me The Man of the office. haha. They were like, man...don't mess with Tara...she's who the bosses send to do all the dirty work. Siiick. At least they all had a sense of humor about it cuz I certainly didn't want to do it!

My computer is officially busted. Well...not the COMPUTER but Jeremy thinks that it is one of two things and he's guessing its the motherboard. Apparently, when Puden built it, he jacked up the motherboard to be able to sustain all his computer playing habits and so in order to replace it, I would have to rebuild one and have all of the same high tech stuff on it, otherwise it wont work. He said that it would be pretty darn expensive and that I may as well buy a new computer almost. So I've been thinking of what to do. I'm mostly nervous about all of the stuff that I have on there...my genealogy, pictures, journals, etc. This is the fourth time that I've had computer problems since I've been at BYU and I really dont want to lose everything again. I was thinking that if I really do need to buy a new computer, I almost want to spend the extra money to get an iMac. I don't really like Macs, but I hear that once you get used to them, they are great and you'll never want to go back to PCs. Not to mention that I've also heard that the problems you have with them are very minimal and hardly ever happen. Hence the basis of their appeal. :) I have kinda priced just the bottom line computer including software n stuff and it would come to about $1300 which is pretty spendy, but I've got a savings account for a reason right? And I've got dates most weekends that can pay for food and entertainment and dinner group during the week :) lol we'll see what it comes down to, but I really just would like all of this to be over. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to not have a computer. Luckily, I've been able to work on most of my RS stuff at work since they haven't given me anything to do, but I don't know how much longer this is going to last. Anyway, I'm gonna go look for something to do that is productive! I hope yall have a fun week! XOXO

The Fireworks Go POP!

Howdy, howdy, howdy! I hope everyone had a splendid 4th of July! I know mine was definitely fun, but I'm still kinda paying for it, for sure. Thursday night, we kicked off our celebration with a nice little Phase 10 tournament. We've figured out that if you go to Little Caesars about 10 minutes before they close, they give you everything you ask for, for free. haha. It's freakin sweet. That may be because we know a guy that works there, but still. :) Anyway, so that was lots of fun. I didn't win, but I came close which was a big deal, considering that I was stuck on one of the phases for an eternity. Anyway, that took a while so i didn't make it into bed until well after 1 or so. The next morning, we all met up at 5 to walk over to University Pkwy for the Parade. That thing is incredibly huge so going early was a must. Most people actually just camp out so they can get a good spot, which probably would have been a good idea considering that none of us really got much sleep anyway, but it was fun nonetheless. :) We started another phase 10 tourney mostly because the parade didn't start til 9 and we were all pretty awake after walking for about 30 minutes. I made it through about 2 phases before I completely lost it. My brain just stopped working and when I was delt my new hand I laid it all out, face up (I had an entire run when i was trying for sets of 3 or something) and I loudly proclaimed, "hehe I'VE GOT THE RUNS!" lol wow...talk about good times. My friends have never seen me the way that I was that morning. I'm surprised they are still calling me their friend....I hope. :) Anyway, we left a little early so we could start cooking for our BBQ. We got some random people together from the ward and we made hamburgers, homemade potato salad, chips, drinks, all that jazz. It was YUM. I then proceeded to fall asleep on my friends floor until my friend Russell came and woke me up to come watch Vantage Point with him. It was pretty good...kinda frustrating though. Anyway, after that, my friends and I went to play some CRUD in the clubhouse, we went and got slurpees and then went and watched fireworks when it got dark. In all, it was a fun 4th but I'm definitely still POOPED.

I bought tickets for the midnight showing of Batman that's next week. I'm stoked. We have a group of 12 people going so far. When I told the lady I needed 12 tickets she looked at me with wide eyes and said, "are you sure?" hahaha good times. Anyway, my boss just brought in some salt water taffy so I think I'm gonna go jump on that. I hope yall have a GREAT week! XOXO

Out of No Where

Okay, so I know y'all are probably tired of hearing about my dreams, but they're just so funny and random that I can't help but write about them. :) I will, however, preface this story with a different one. Mostly because I'm pretty sure that Meredith is the only one who is going to read this that would know the preface to this dream. So, back in the day I used to have this HUGE crush on this guy in my ward, Shad Bowen. I thought he was so dreamy despite the fact that he kinda looked like a turtle. haha. I would put a year on when this happened, but I swear to you, I liked him for like 5 years if not more than that. Sad, I know. :) Anyway, they moved when we were back in middle school or something and I really haven't thought that much about him since. Just know, he melted my butter in so many ways. lol.

There was a lot to this dream that didn't really make sense, but that's gotta be normal, right? Anyway, my friend and I were here at BYU and we had this ward activity or something and Shad was randomly there! I was definitely excited but in a weirded out sort of way. So, we started talking and this girl was insanely jealous and was trying to come up with anything that would make Shad want to stop paying attention to me and lean more toward her. And do you know what she did? She was looking at my back to see if I had any zits. hahaha siiiiiick. That's really all I remember. There was a lot of running, but I don't remember why. It made me laugh a lot that Shad was in my dream though. Good times. I haven't thought about him in a long time...

The 4th is coming up and I'm glad that I get work off. That means sleeping in...sort of. I think we're gonna get up kinda early to get a good spot for the big parade that goes through Provo. I've been here for 4 years and I've still never seen it. Can we say party pooper?! Yes. What can I say? Sleep is just so good. I think we might hike the Y at night too to see the fireworks, but we'll see.

I'm back at work now! Not that there is a lot for me to do just yet, but I did get to write my lesson yesterday and I watched 3 episodes of Chuck. hahah love it. Anyway, I'm gonna go find something to entertain myself with. Lata lovers! XOXO
